One Thing We Don't Have to Experience

In Numbers 14:34 God told the Hebrews, 'You will discover what it is like to have me for an enemy'. What a horrible place to be. Aren't you glad we don't ever have to be there? Once we are in Christ we are no longer enemies of God. Christ took that punishment for us. He was separated from His Father, for awhile, so we don't ever have to be again. Romans 5:1 says, 'Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.' God is for us. He is not against us. He is fighting with us and for us. He is no longer our enemy. When God disciplines us it is not as an enemy...it is as a loving Father who knows what is best for his children. Whatever happens in our lives we can always know that it is part of the process our loving God is taking us through because of the tremendous love He has for us and the purpose He has for our lives...to make us like His Son.
