My Prayer for Student Life Conference

Many of us will be going to Student Life Conference this weekend. Here are some of the things I'll be praying for. Will you join me?

Revival generally. I sense many of our hearts need a fresh experience with God. We have allowed a lot of stuff, some good and some bad, to pile onto our hearts and clog the relational flow between us and God. God give us hearts of repentance and let us experience your forgiveness and blow away the clutter has that has come between us and you. Convict us of the sin that is in our lives. Show us where our lives are not in line with your desires for our life. Make Your desires our desires.

Unity in our ministry. We have become a ministry of subgroups. Some at are at odds. Some are not but apathy can be as bad as aggressive disunity. Disunity breaks God's heart. God use the time we will spend together this weekend increasing our love for one another. Break down the walls that separate us. Give us compassion for and understanding of one another. Help us to see each other the way you see us. Help us to love one another despite the faults that we all have. Break down our tendency to be so self-focused that we don't make the effort to see the needs in another person’s life. Forgive us for blaming our own life situations on others and help us to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn.

Leadership. God will you call some people out this weekend that will be examples to your flock. Will you lead some students to dedicate themselves to walking so closely with you that they will serve as an example for others who need to see what it looks like to be a students deeply in love and deeply committed to following you?

Things I don’t even know how to pray for. God you know us better than we know ourselves. We see things on the surface. You see deep down. God reach down and meet our deepest needs. Reach way deep down into our hearts and do major surgery. Heal us in places we don’t even know we are sick.

Most of God we simply want to experience You. If we can come home knowing we have had an encounter with You than we will come home changed. God give us that.
