Simmer....

Josh, J.D. & Ethan

When I mentioned to Josh tonight that J.D. Drew may sign with the Red Sox he immediately began to go through all our baseball stuff to throw out anything signed by or bearing the image of J.D. Simmer down Josh. Where does this come from?

J.D. opted out of the last 3 years of his 5 year, $55,000,000 contract with the Dodgers. Who can blame him? Who could live on that kind of money?

Quoting Jim Coletti, Dodgers GM, "In light of what J.D. said at the end of the year, about making a commitment and how much he loved playing here, I was surprised. J.D.'s a man of his word. I guess he changed his word. I think you expect things to be handled in a certain way. Based on what was written at the end of the season, you have to ask yourself, 'How did this happen?'"

Why would he be obligated to stay? His contract says he is free to move on after two years and he is moving on. If the contract stated the Dodgers could release him after two years would they keep him if he was injured or performing poorly? Of course not. GM's dump players at the first sign of decline. But when the shoe is on the other foot some how the players are just greedy, ungrateful pigs.

The Dodgers signed the contract...now live with it without all the crying.
