Mess Up and blame God - Genesis 27:20

Genesis 27:20 Isaac asked, "How were you able to find it so quickly, my son?""Because the LORD your God put it in my path!" Jacob replied.

This would be funny if it wasn't so common. We do something really stupid and then put the blame on God. God didn't put it in his path. He went and got it out of the pen. Oh, God had put some good things in Jacbob's path. God was going to bless Jacob. He was going to carry on the family line of Abraham and Isaac and be the father of a great nation - and wealthy to boot! But in this case it wasn't God's doing that puts Jacob in the center of this deceitful plan. It was the impatience and lack of faith of Jacob. The ultimate result was the same - he was still the father of a great nation and wealthy to boot - but with a lot more heart ache and broken relationships. He broke his father's heart, never saw his mother again and spent a good number of his youthful days running from his brother. If only we'd trust God instead of always feeling the need to take matter into our own hands how different our lives would be.
